BOOKING INFO:
The White River in Colorado is a hidden gem that doesn’t get the attention it deserves. If you’re a fan of fly fishing, this stream should definitely be on your radar. Starting from its North and South Forks, the White River meanders through picturesque ranch land and the charming town of Meeker. It’s a haven for anglers looking to escape the crowds, with plenty of riffles, runs, and pools to explore.
Despite being a bit off the beaten path, the White River offers great fishing opportunities for rainbows, cutthroat and brown trout. And if you’re a fan of small wild trout, the tributary streams won’t disappoint. With public access points scattered along the river, there’s plenty of room to cast your line and reel in a memorable catch.
In the headwaters, you can easily find lots of smaller cutthroat and brook trout. While you might come across brown and rainbow trout there too, the big guys prefer hanging out in the lower part of the river. Don’t forget to check out the latest Fishing Reports before your trip.

When is the best time to go fishing?
Good action on the White River starts around April and goes well into the fall and winter. That’s the beauty of fishing in Colorado. Guided trips scheduled are held rain or shine, however in the event of dangerous weather or non-fishable conditions, we will discuss rescheduling with you.
Do I need a fishing license?
Yes. You will need a fishing license to fish on the lakes or rivers. These can be purchased through Colorado Parks and Wildlife or at most sporting goods stores.
Do I need to bring my own gear?
You are more than welcome to bring your own gear. We’ll have you covered if you need anything. Our guides will direct you on the best setup given the current fishing conditions.
Is transportation to and from the fishing spots included?
Yes. Our guides will bring you to and from the fishing spots. You are more than welcome to drive if you prefer.
Can we keep the fish?
No. Many of the Colorado fisheries and rivers practice a catch and release and we do as well to help preserve the resources.
Should I tip the guide?
Guide gratuity is not included as part of your payment, and is by no means mandatory. However, 20% is a very common tip percentage to give your guide at the end of the day. If you feel the guide exceeded expectations, more than 20% is always greatly appreciated.
Are meals Included?
Meals are not included in the half day trip so we recommend you pack a few snacks or eat before hand. They are however included in the full day and over night trips.
