Ripple Creek Lodge's guided hunts take you deep into the Flat Tops Wilderness Area of Northwest Colorado, in Game Management Unit 24 on the White River National Forest. Our fully guided hunts cater to both Archery and Rifle Seasons. Horses serve as the primary mode of transportation getting us into the higher elevations and more inaccessible locations.
The Flat Tops, a federally designated Wilderness Area known for hosting the world’s largest Elk herd, provides a distinctive and adventurous experience for our guided hunters. This remote and rugged backcountry showcases some of the finest Elk habitat in the country, featuring a variety of terrains including small open meadows, aspen-covered mountainsides, and dense stands of spruce, pine, and fir forests that support a robust Elk population. The area is also abundant with Mule Deer, Black Bear, and Moose.
Hunting in Game Management Unit (GMU) 24 in Colorado offers an exceptional elk hunting opportunity with diverse terrain and habitats that cater perfectly to elk and mule deer. The landscape varies from dense dark timbers to expansive aspen groves, providing an ideal environment for wildlife. At elevations ranging between 8,000′ to 11,400′, this area encompasses the elk’s migration path from their summer grounds to winter ranges, ensuring an immersive hunting experience.
Each hunting party at the Ripple Creek Lodge complex will have own cabin. These cabins, designed to be both rustic and cozy, can accommodate 3 to 6 hunters. They are equipped with amenities such as kitchen facilities, running hot and cold water, full bathrooms, beds with bedding and towels provided. Additionally, guests have access to laundry services and ice facilities as well.
