Flat Tops Fishing Report (7/11/19) The runoff has peaked in the Flat Tops and were finally starting to see improving conditions on the rivers and streams. Flows remain high and off color, but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Flat Tops Fishing Report (7/03/19) A stretch of warm weather in the Flat Tops has the snow in the high country is rapidly disappearing. Were getting reports that the ice is off or retreating on nearly all the high lakes; that said, accessing the lakes remains a challenging and hazardous endeavor. Flat Tops Fishing Report (6/27/19) Last weeks snow and cooler temperatures provided a brief break from the heaviest runoff, but warmer temperatures are forecast for the next several days. The warm temperatures combined with the new snow in the high country will undoubtedly produce very high flows and poor water clarity over the next several days on most of the rivers and streams in the Flat Tops. Flat Tops Fishing Report (6/20/19) The melt continues in the high country. The flows on the rivers and streams remain high, but we expect the runoff to peak very soon. Many of the high lakes are opening up and the fishing is likely to be outstanding if youre able to negotiate the remaining snow. Ripple Creek Pass remains closed at the time of the writing of this report. We expect warm temperatures and continued melting for the next day or two, but cooler temperatures return for the weekend. Flat Tops Fishing Report (6/13/19) The warmer weather is bringing on some serious snow melt. Many of the high lakes remain frozen, but we expect them to open up in the next couple of weeks. Sections of the trails through the high country will remain covered in snow for at least two weeks.
