The White River

The White River Valley, with less than 15 inches of rain a year, has become some of the best agricultural land in the state. Agriculture is a way of life for many While River Valley residents. Many 3rd and 4th generation ranchers and farmers still operate their family's original homesteads. Through irrigation, early settlers were able to raise livestock and grow crops by transforming the dry sagebrush-covered grassland into lush green meadows that you can see in this valley today.

Many landowners provide fishing access for the public in exchange for cattle grazing in the Oak Ridge Wildlife Area.

Did we mention that it is an excellent trout river and a favorite of fishermen? Although sections of the river are on private land, many are open to the public fishing.
